Continuing Education

Continuing Nursing Education — in collaboration with the Karnataka Nursing Council

AECS Maaruti College of Nursing conducts Continuing Nursing Education programmes annually in collaboration with the Karnataka Nursing Council. These programmes are planned and delivered by nursing departments across the college, accredited with credit hours that count toward professional licence renewal — making participation of direct value to practising nurses and faculty alike.

Each programme is conducted under the supervision of an official observer appointed by the Karnataka Nursing Council — ensuring that content, delivery, documentation, and evaluation meet prescribed standards. Sessions typically include expert lectures, scientific presentations, workshops, and clinical discussions on emerging trends in nursing and healthcare.

The KNC collaboration ensures that certificates issued carry regulatory validity and that the credit hours count within the professional nursing framework. For nursing professionals, this means structured opportunities for knowledge renewal that are formally recognised — not informal sessions.

Community Outreach

Health Programmes

Health programmes at AECS Maaruti College of Nursing follow a structured month-wise calendar, connecting national health observances to student outreach activity. GNM, B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, and M.Sc Nursing students participate in planning and conducting these programmes as part of their community health exposure.

Each programme moves students from classroom theory into direct community interaction — conducting screenings, delivering health education, and engaging with the populations whose health needs they will serve as nurses. Communication, clinical judgment, and public health awareness all develop through this work.

For the communities served, these programmes bring health information, screening, and professional guidance to locations and populations that may have limited access to regular healthcare. The relationship between the college and its surrounding community is built through this consistent presence.

Student Development

Special Programmes

Orientation Programme

Newly admitted students attend an orientation programme before academic work begins — covering the academic calendar, examination structure, clinical posting arrangements, hostel facilities, and professional conduct expected of nursing students.

Health Awareness Programme

Students conduct health awareness sessions in schools, villages, and community settings — covering hygiene, nutritional guidance, vaccination, communicable disease prevention, and mental health awareness. Student-led, with faculty oversight.

Nutrition and Healthy Eating

The Nutrition Education Programme combines academic content on dietetics with practical public communication — food demonstrations, exhibitions, and individual counselling make nutritional guidance accessible to diverse community audiences.

Personality Development Programme

These programmes build communication ability, professional composure, and interpersonal confidence through seminars, structured discussions, and practical interaction exercises — qualities every effective nurse uses daily.

Nutrition Programme

The annual Nutrition Programme at AECS Maaruti College of Nursing moves nutritional knowledge into practical application. Students plan and prepare balanced meals appropriate to different populations — children, adults, pregnant women, and elderly individuals — working with locally available ingredients under faculty guidance.

Through food preparation, exhibition, and presentation, students develop an applied understanding of how nutrition supports disease prevention, recovery, and health maintenance — knowledge that translates directly into patient counselling and community health work.
