Nursing Hostel Warden
Nursing Hostel Full-time 2–3 yrs experience

The Nursing Hostel Warden is responsible for the overall management, safety, discipline, welfare, and smooth functioning of the nursing hostel. The warden ensures a secure, hygienic, and supportive living environment for nursing students and staff while maintaining hostel rules, records, and resident well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Hostel Operations
  • Manage day-to-day hostel operations.
  • Allocate rooms and maintain occupancy records.
  • Maintain attendance, leave, and visitor registers.
  • Prepare periodic reports and documentation related to hostel activities.
  • Coordinate admissions, room allotments, and check-outs.
  • Monitor students during study hours.
Student Welfare & Counselling
  • Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of nursing students.
  • Address grievances, complaints, and personal concerns.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and counselling when required.
  • Act as a liaison between students, parents, and college/hospital administration.
Discipline & Conduct
  • Enforce hostel rules, regulations, and code of conduct.
  • Maintain discipline and resolve conflicts among residents.
  • Prevent ragging, harassment, and misconduct within hostel premises.
  • Report serious disciplinary issues to management.
Safety & Security
  • Ensure hostel security and monitor entry/exit procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and common areas.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, accidents, and safety incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety and emergency preparedness measures.
Health & Hygiene
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the hostel.
  • Coordinate medical assistance and first aid during emergencies.
  • Monitor residents' health concerns and coordinate with hospital or nursing administration when required.
  • Supervise housekeeping and sanitation services.
Food & Facility Management
  • Monitor hygiene of food served in the mess.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of hostel buildings, furniture, and utilities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs and upkeep.
  • Supervise housekeeping, catering, and support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 12th pass (Higher Secondary); a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or any relevant field is an advantage.
  • Experience in hostel management, student affairs, healthcare administration, or residential supervision preferred.
  • Familiarity with emergency response and student welfare practices.
  • Computer proficiency and record-keeping skills.

Nursing College Librarian
Library Services Full-time 1–3 yrs experience

The Librarian is responsible for managing and maintaining the nursing college library, ensuring easy access to learning resources, supporting teaching, learning, and research activities, and providing library services to students, faculty, and staff. The librarian oversees the acquisition, organization, circulation, and preservation of print and digital resources while promoting effective use of library facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Library Administration
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the college library.
  • Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
  • Maintain library records, statistics, and reports.
  • Ensure proper cataloging, classification, and shelving of books and journals.
  • Conduct periodic stock verification and inventory management.
Collection Development
  • Select, acquire, and organize books, journals, periodicals, e-books, and other learning resources relevant to nursing and allied health sciences.
  • Coordinate with faculty members regarding resource requirements.
  • Maintain subscriptions to nursing journals, databases, and online resources.
  • Weed out outdated or damaged materials according to institutional policy.
User Services
  • Issue, receive, and renew library materials.
  • Assist students and faculty in locating and accessing information resources.
  • Provide reference and information services.
  • Orient new students and staff on library facilities and services.
  • Promote reading habits and information literacy among users.
Digital Library Management
  • Manage digital library resources and online databases.
  • Ensure access to e-books, e-journals, and institutional repositories.
  • Support users in accessing electronic resources.
  • Maintain library management software and digital records.
Support for Teaching and Research
  • Assist faculty and students in literature searches and research activities.
  • Guide users in referencing, citation styles, and academic integrity.
  • Support accreditation and regulatory requirements by maintaining adequate learning resources.
  • Prepare reports and documentation required for inspections and audits.
Library Maintenance and Security
  • Ensure proper upkeep of library furniture, equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintain a quiet, safe, and conducive study environment.
  • Monitor security of library materials and prevent loss or damage.
  • Supervise library assistants and support staff, if any.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc.).
  • Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of library classification systems (DDC, AACR2, RDA, etc.).
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with library management software.
Preferred
  • Experience in a nursing, medical, or academic library.
  • Knowledge of digital library systems and online databases.
  • Understanding of accreditation requirements for nursing education institutions.
