Simulation, practice, and readiness before bedside care

Simulation-based practice

Before entering a ward, students must demonstrate procedural readiness. The skill lab at AECS Maaruti provides that preparation — a controlled environment where clinical procedures are practised to a standard, not merely attempted.

Maternal and newborn care skills

Students can repeat procedures, learn from feedback, and build confidence and competence step by step. Simulation strengthens critical thinking, decision-making, communication, and teamwork—capabilities that matter in maternal and newborn care.

Confidence in real clinical settings

Overall, skill labs prepare students to deliver safe, effective, and women-centred care with greater assurance when they move into hospitals and community postings.

Supervised Clinical Exposure

Rotations across hospitals, clinics, and community health sites

Supervised clinical postings place students in working healthcare environments — government hospitals, multi-specialty centres, and community health settings. Each rotation is structured, evaluated, and progresses in clinical complexity across the years of the programme.

Training emphasises active learning through bedside care, case presentations, nursing care plans, and participation in clinical discussions. Students work with multidisciplinary teams and build critical thinking, sound decision-making, and patient-centred practice.

Community health exposure at AECS Maaruti covers public health assessment, preventive care, immunisation support, maternal health, and school health programmes. Students at Bagur PHC and Jigani gain direct experience in the realities of primary healthcare delivery — separate from and complementary to hospital clinical work.

This work supports skills in health education, immunisation programmes, maternal and child health care, and disease-prevention activities. It also strengthens communication and teamwork with healthcare staff and the local community, preparing students to deliver holistic, accessible care.
